Online shopping addiction now considered as mental health disorder -Researchers

Online shopping addiction is now part of 'Buying-shopping disorder' (BSD) which people are obsessed with spending online that may end up hoarding the things they order, according to researchers.

'It really is time to recognize BSD as separate mental health condition and to accumulate further knowledge about BSD on the Internet,' said Dr Astrid Müller, a psychotherapist at Hannover Medical School in Germany.

This kind of disorder often happens together with other mood, anxiety or eating disorders, or substance abuse.

Symptoms may include:

1. Accumulating debt
2. Hiding purchases from loved ones
3. Tensions or breakdowns in relationships between friends and family
4. Compensating for negative feelings by buying things
5. Trying to stop shopping but unable to do it

Affecting five per cent of the population and having serious mental effects, with continuous shopping can cause a loop of extreme cravings for buying things and satisfaction when spending money.

This can then lead to a breakdown in self-control, 'extreme distress', other psychiatric problems, relationship difficulties and physical clutter and debt.

  1. I do not know how to respond to this, personally not online shopping helps cope with anxiety, although it is not a way to get rid of it, but still a pretty good way to forget about the problems at least for a while.

  3. CBDA oil helped me feel better at one time. It made me feel better in general and I began to notice that my mood began to improve every day. I know it's a big discovery for science, but it's a real way to fight some problems. By the way, you can order similar products on this site https://cbd.market/cbda. I have been ordering the necessary supplements and this oil only from them for quite a long time and I have never had any complaints.
