13 people died in Taiwan for a week due to H1N1 flu, total death toll rise to 56 in a span of four months


H1N1 flu virus or swine flu records 13 deaths in Taiwan in just one week which is now a greater threat than the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).


The deaths listed are aged 47-97 years old died of the seasonal flu, Central News Agency reported.

The data was from Jan 19 to 25 where 116,705 people sought medical treatment for flu-like symptoms at hospitals and clinics across the country, according to CDC Deputy Director-General Chuang Jen-hsiang.

CDC data shows that there are total of 56 flu-related deaths adding the reported 13 as the flu season already reached its peak.
