Migrant caregiver in Taiwan infected with coronavirus recklessly livestreams while in isolation ward

The Indonesian caregiver who is currently in isolation ward due to COVID-19 in Taiwan livestream her stay in social media platforms Facebook and Tok Tok exposing the confidentiality of the area.

The infected migrant caregiver who was working in the country illegally has been confirmed as Taiwan's 32nd COVID-19 coronavirus case.

She visited and attended the 27th infected patient from Feb. 11 to 16 as an undocumented migrant worker.

The woman traveled by train and bus (Route 38) between New Taipei's Shulin and Banciao districts multiple times from Feb. 16 to 19 according to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The woman posted "Mbak nya santuuyyy pdhl + kena virus CORONA" on her Facebook page, meaning that she felt relaxed despite having caught the virus. During the livestream, she showed the IV needle in her hand, and presented a medical prescription on which the name of the hospital was visible, Taiwan News reported.

Authorities in Taiwan do not disclose the name of the hospital to avoid panic. Taiwan health authorities may decide to punish the careless act under Taiwanese law. (Photo Taiwan News)
