Nais ni Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Susan Ople na mapabilis ang pagproseso ng deployment ng mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
"That is one of her marching orders. We look at the efficiency of the delivery of services to OFWs. So the ease of doing business is our current focus. How to facilitate the processing, especially the approval of documents, for example," ayon kay Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) chief Bernard Olalia.
"In the next few days, especially when the new secretary of DMW enters, expect that there will be changes,” dagdag ng POEA.
Idinagdag ni Olalia na ang POEA ay patuloy ang operation sa ilalim ng dalawang taong transition period.
Nilagdaan ni former President Rodrigo Duterte ang Republic Act 11641 noong Disyembre 2021 na lumikha sa DMW.
Pinangalanan ni President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. si Ople sa DMW post noong Mayo.
Bukod sa POEA, ang iba pang ahensya na magiging bahagi ng DMW ay ang Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, National Maritime Polytechnic, and the International Labor Affairs Bureau -- lahat ay under ng Department of Labor and Employment -- the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (OUMWA), na nasa ilalim ng Department of Foreign Affairs.
