One of the biggest financial organizations in the Philippines is Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and its corporate social responsibility division is the BPI Foundation. The organization was founded with the goals of fostering a culture of financial wellness and acting as agents of long-lasting transformation in impoverished Filipino communities.

The foundation seeks to provide people in underserved places with access to high-quality healthcare, housing, employment opportunities, and financial services. It collaborates with a range of partners, such as members of the commercial sector, regional governments, and non-governmental organizations.

Following are the Benefits of BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship:

Each scholar will receive a scholarship grant of up to P100,000.00 every academic year to help pay tuition and other incidental expenses. This grant will be given directly to BPIF’s partner institution.

The financial aid shall only pay school expenses for the ordinary school year or term and shall not, under any circumstances, reimburse school fees originating from or connected to the summer term, unless the summer term is required by the course curriculum.

Students from state universities and colleges will get a monthly living subsidy and learning assistance allowance.

Qualified next of kin of the following medical front liners who passed away or those who contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty:

1. Doctors

2. Nurses

3. Medical technologists

4. Community health workers

5. Administrative, utility, and support services personnel in health care facilities.

If the deceased is married, priority beneficiaries will be the children. If single, beneficiaries can be next of kin up to 3rd degree of consanguinity.

1. Applicants should be college/university students (1st year-4th year/5th year)

2. To qualify, eligible students must have and maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent, or meet University standards for the previous academic year (for incoming 1st year) or for the previous semester (for incoming 2nd year-5th year).

3. The applicant must not be a recipient of another scholarship or educational assistance program.

3. If the medical front liner is deceased: Affidavit of Endorsement and of No Objection (Next of Kin) (https://bit.ly/AY2023-2024Affidavit-NextOfKin)

4. If the medical front liner is still living: Affidavit of Endorsement and of No Objection (Front liner) (https://bit.ly/AY2023-2024Affidavit-Frontliner)

5. Endorsement letter, duly signed by the authorized representative of the hospital or health care facility where the medical front liner was assigned

6. Original or authenticated copies of the following:

Course curriculum

If a child of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant

If a sibling of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant and the front liner showing their common parents

If a nephew/niece of the medical front liner, birth certificate of the applicant, together with the birth certificate of the applicant’s parent and the medical front liner showing their common parents

If a widow/widower of the medical front liner, NSO-authenticated marriage certificate of the medical front liner.

PRC ID or License ID of the medical front liner

If medical front liner is deceased, death certificate of the medical front liner – indicating COVID-19 or complications due to COVID-19 as cause of death

If medical front liner is still living, medical certificate of the medical front liner – indicating COVID-19 in the findings

Latest ITR of parents / guardian of the applicant

Latest previous academic year Transcript of Records or Copy of Grades

Certificate of Good Moral Character

7. Only the applications with complete requirements will be processed.

8. Scanned copies of application form and other supporting documents may be submitted.

After reviewing the applications, the Partner Schools will provide BPIF with a list of the three (3) finalists. From the list of nominees, the successful candidates will be picked after consideration of their academic ability and financial necessity. Through the institutions and email addresses provided on the application form, BPIF will inform the chosen students of their acceptance.
