Tsai warned China not to underestimate Taiwan's will to defend and safeguard itself

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen warned China not to underestimate the country's will to defend itself and the determination of its people to safeguard their free and democratic way of life.

Tsai made the comments after the People's Liberation Army aircraft made multiple intrusions into Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) within a week, CNA reported.

"When it comes to our sovereign territory, we will not give an inch. When it comes to democratic freedoms, we will stand firm," Tsai tweeted.

Meanwhile, Tsai charted out three strategies for safeguarding national security amid the recently heightened Chinese aggression.

First, her administration will determine what infrastructure, institutions, and sectors are vital to national security and therefore require protection. Second, the Executive Branch will work with national security units to create a crisis plan, from early warning to post-event action. Third, the government will invest in cultivating talent and technologies required to safeguard national security.
