450,000th baby in Taiwan’s Hsinchu to receive brand new car and 45yrs supply of meatballs

All expecting mothers in Taiwan/s Hsinchu City wish to give birth of the city’s 450,000th citizen as the baby will receive some big time gift from the city government, announced by Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien.

The main reason why the Mayor Lin is giving away some generous gift is to promote child birth. The city's population is on the verge of crossing the 450,000 mark according to the city statistics, Taiwan News reported.

The stable growth of a city's population underscores its competitiveness. In order to welcome the forthcoming 450,000th citizen, the city government has worked with a local car dealership to give the baby a new set of wheels, Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien said in a Facebook post.

A well-known restaurant in the city has offered to feed the baby free meatballs, the city's most famous delicacy, until it reaches the age of 45, the report added.

Hsinchu has the fifth-highest birth rate in the country next to Taipei, Kaohsiung, Taichung and Tainan.
