2 kidnappers of Chinese national killed in shootout with cops in SLEX

Two individuals believed to be members of a kidnapping gang were slain in Laguna on Thursday afternoon after allegedly shooting at police officers.

Agents of the Philippine National Police's Regional Intelligence Division's Anti-Carnapping Unit received an alert about a Chinese national forcibly taken aboard a white van by a "notorious robbery and kidnapping group" at Aseana, Paraaque City, according to a police report from the Laguna Provincial Command released at 4:17 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities have begun patrols in the National Capital Region's southern reaches. They afterwards saw a white van driving towards the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

The report described the suspects as “notorious robbery/kidnapping personalities.”

RID-Ancar staff had been warned earlier that a Chinese national had been kidnapped at Asiana in Paranaque City by a "notorious robbery/kidnapping ring" using a white Toyota Hi-Ace van, according to police.

The men observed law enforcement officers as they approached the Cabuyao Exit and opened fire near the Silangan Exit approximately 2:10 p.m., according to the police report.

Two male suspects were murdered in the ensuing gunfight, according to Bian City Police.
