St. Christopher's Church in Taipei declared suspension of all pastoral and social activities


Parishioners of St. Christopher's Church are advised that the church had declared suspension of all pastoral and social activities  to prevent spreading of virus amid outbreak.


According to Fr. Ed Pacquing, the Archbishop John Hung of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Taipei has approved the indefinite suspension of mass, Taipei News Network reported.

Additionally, Sacredheart Zhongli alao suspended mass and activities. Currently Taiwan has listed 34 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 


Often referred to as "our home away from home" by migrant workers, over the past 61 years the church has become a place of worship for people from all walks of life.


The church was built by Americans and opened in July 1958 to hold religious services for the United States military and allied forces stationed in Taiwan at the time.
