Woman suffering from depression jumps from 4th floor in SM Megamall


A suicide is assumed after a 23-year-old woman has reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on Saturday morning, November 28.

The unfortunate incident happened inside the building B of Megamall, the second largest shopping mall in the Philippines.

According to Mandaluyong City Police Officer-In-Charge Colonel Milo Pagtalunan, the victim was from Sta. Maria Bulacan. She was previously diagnosed with depression and was confined at the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH).

The woman was immediately rushed to VRP Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the management of the mall confirmed the incident and stated that a joint investigation with the police is currently on going.

There was an incident in SM Megamall involving a female customer. Our Emergency Response Team was immediately on site and took the person to the nearby hospital. A joint investigation with the local PNP is already ongoing."
