Senior military officials pointed out that in response to national security needs, President Tsai Ing-wen instructed the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) to accelerate the mass production of various weapon systems.
Defense systems on the mass production includes the surface-to-air, anti-ballistic missile Sky Bow III and the Hsiung Feng III, a supersonic missile capable of destroying both land and naval targets.
The missiles adopts an advanced integrated rocket ramjet design, which greatly reduces the size and weight of the missile, and increases the loading capacity and flexibility of the platform.
The key technological breakthroughs in various missiles, radars, vehicles and information, communications, and electronics have become the top priority of the research and development tasks.
