Man from New Taipei penalized NT$1-million for breaching qurantine and visited a nightclub


A man from New Taipei City in Taiwan faces a NT$1 million penalty for going into a night club when he was supposed to be at a 14-day quarantine.


The man surnamed Huang returned to Taiwan from Southeast Asia on March 18 and was supposed to quarantine himself at home until April 2.

Taipei City Police Department made a spot check at a night club on Sunday morning and the man is listed on the quarantined list. The New Taipei City Government said that Huang, who resides in Sanchong District, was booked for the quarantine violation.

The New Taipei City Department of Health decided to slap Huang a NT$1 million considering his violation is severe by visiting a enclosed area with many people.


Taiwan government already raised the quarantine violation fine from NT$100,000 to NT$1 million since last February for strict compliance.

Meanwhile, all passengers coming from all level 3 warning literally all countries entering Taiwan will go under a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
