Government complaints can now be sent to Duterte's office through text

The public can now send their complaints to the government and their services directly to President Rodrigo Duterte's office through a text message without any charge according to the two big telecommunication companies in the Philippines.

On November 24, the Globe Telecom just announced that that a test run of its 8888 short message service (SMS) was successful and can now be rolled out to the general public for free.

This was followed by Smart on November 26 after releasing an advisory saying that Smart and Sun subscribers can now use the same service without any charges.

To send a complain or concern, the user just have to text the complaint hotline which is 8888 following the format "C / Name (if you wish to be identified) / Concerned Government Agency / Complete details of the complaint" for complaints and  "A / Complete name / Type of request (financial, livelihood, housing, employment, educational, and claims) / Concerned Government Agency / Complete details of the request" for assistance.
