Philippines to suspend entry of overseas Filipinos and foreigners anew except returning OFWs

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 announced that The Philipines will temporarily ban the entry of travelers (foreigners or overseas Filipinos) starting March 20.


Returning overseas Filipino workers are exempted from the ban that will last until April 19, 2021. The temporary ban was based on the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.


Excemptions from the month-long ban are the following:


-Holders of 9(c) visa

-Medical repatriation endorsed by the Department of Foreign Affairs

-Distressed returning overseas Filipinos

Emergency, humanitarian and analogous cases

-those coming with under emergency, humanitarian, and other analogous cases 


“All concerned agencies are hereby directed to limit the number of inbound international passengers to the country to only one thousand five hundred (1,500) a day and to temporarily suspend the entry of foreign nationals and returning overseas Filipinos who are non-OFWs,” the memorandum signed by NTF Chair Delfin Lorenzana.
