Discover And Be Amused With The First And Only Taxi Museum In Taiwan


There is a new place to visit in Taiwan, the “Taxi Museum” was opened in Suao Township in Yilan. The whole museum is based on old taxis that came from different places around the world. There are many antique taxis and thousands of models of cars with various models.  




Car enthusiast will surely love this museum even though they are taxis. Antique taxis from all over the world can be seen in the museum. They can be arranged in the year.


Some of the taxi inside the museum are the 1957 Mercedes Benz 180, a 1962 Datsun Bluebird 312, a 1967 Austin FX4, a 1972 Checker Marathon and a 1988 Yue Loong Sunny 303. With these cars it seems like you enter a time machine that goes back in the old world plus the nostalgia atmosphere.




The museum is currently divided into two main exhibition areas, urban tourism and the Taiwan theme limited time exhibition. Among them, during the limited time exhibition, the public can also see the tricycles of the Republic of China in the 1940s.


In addition, there is a children's play area, such as a wave scooter, some taxi toys and visitors can enjoy a tea drink in the area. The museum was created by Lee Chi-cheng and has been collecting taxi-related items for almost two decades.



Taxi Museum (計程車博物館) is located at No. 2, Lane 162, Section 2, Zhongshan Road, Suao Town, Yilan County (Chinese address: 宜蘭縣蘇澳鎮中山路二段162巷2號) The museum is open daily except Wednesday from 10:00am to 05:00pm.
