Typhoon Lekima Strengthen As Taiwan Announced For Suspension of Work And School Classes


Typhoon Lekima has strengthened into a strong typhoon according to the latest information from the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) of Taiwan. The radius of typhoon Lekima has been expanded to 280 km and the maximum wind speed near the center was also increased to 53 meters. 


The warning range was from Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, Hualien, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli and Taichung. CWB estimates that the typhoon winds will reach the land as soon as possible.

When approaching Taiwan, it will not rule out further strengthening as northern Taiwan bears the wrath of the typhoon. The rain in the north and northeast continues until 9th of August, also the rainfall in the south and south will increase significantly.


List of suspension:
Keelung, Taipei City, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Lianjang County and Yilan County announced suspension of work and classes. Recently, Miaoli County also suspends works at Aug 9 10am todaym

Taichung, Yunlin, Changhua, Hualien, Taitung and Nantou will continue normal work and classes.

Other counties and cities not mentioned has not announced any suspension and will continue to work as normal.
