Magnitude 4.8 earthquake shakes Taiwan early morning


Taiwan was hit by a magnitude 4.8 earthquake located in eastern Part of the country at 1:49 a.m. (Feb. 14), according to the data of Central Weather Bureau (CWB).


The epicenter of the earthquake was located 58.1 kilometers east-northeast of Hualien County Hall with a focal depth of 25.9 kilometers, CWB data showed.


Yilan County, Hualien County, and New Taipei City registered intensity 2. Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Taipei City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Nantou County, Chiayi County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, and Taitung County registered intensity 1.
