Taiwan expands virus testing on all travelers who have a fever or respiratory symptoms

Taiwan will expand screening for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to all the travelers entering the country who have a fever or respiratory symptoms according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

Medical officials will take samples for those who have a fever or respiratory symptoms for further checking and screening.

This measure will be done in wake of increasing confirmed cononavirus case in Singapore and Thailand where Taiwan raised travel alert for the two countries.

CECC already tests individuals arriving in Taiwan who have traveled to the two countries over the past two weeks and show symptoms.

Additionally, same tests will be conducted on those individuals who are suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms who fail to recover after three days.
