Taiwan's new draft bill will provide financial subsidy to its quarantined citizens and workers

In response to the epidemic prevention and impact of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the governement of Taiwan drafts a new law that will give financial subsidy to its quarantined citizens and medical workers.

Details of the special bill, which is aimed at resolving the economic challenges spurred by the novel coronavirus will be finalized on Feb 20, Kolas Yotaka said, cabinet spokeswoman.

If the draft law will be approved, it will come into effect between today (Feb 20) until June 30.

With some employers refused to pay their workers when quarantined, this act will be the answer so that citizens under quarantine wont breach it.

Yotaka also emphasized that the act also includes policies that will help revive Taiwan's economy. The draft act has estimated budget for the special act is NT$60 billion.
