Dr. Napoleon Obaña of Region II Trauma Medical Center (R2TMC) has confirmed that a five-year old girl has just been discharged from the hospital after contracting the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The patient was tagged as PH1333 and was said to be the youngest to recover from the disease.
She is the third and youngest COVID-19 patient of Nueva Vizcaya and the 15th case of the whole Cagayan Valley Region.
After having cough and fever, the girl was first admitted in a hospital in Cabanatuan City in nearby Nueva Ecija province and was later on transferred in R2TMC.
According to the DOH-Region II, the patient had no travel history. The department's surveillance team is investigating on how the child contracted the disease.
