Taiwan to shortened quarantine time to 5-10 days for business travelers

Taiwan prepares to relax its border control and plans to shortened the quarantine days of business travelers which came from countries with lower coronavirus risks.

Those individuals with sole business purposes in Taiwan may enter the country and will be placed in a short-term quarantine for 5 to 10 days. The number of days required for quarantine depends on the COVID-19 conditions where they came from.

This will lessen the quarantine days to 14-day practice for most countries. For an example, a traveler coming from “extremely low-risk” countries such as New Zealand will only be quarantined for 5 days. “Low-risk countries” will be isolated for 10 days.

The travelers will receive a coronavirus test and if tests negative they will be released from isolation. Visitor will shoulder the cost of the test and will have to self-monitor in the next 21 days.

Meanwhile, visitors from high risk countries and areas are still banned from entering Taiwan. (CNA Photo)
