PH to be more careful in choosing COVID-19 vaccine for senior citizens; aims zero casualty

After the 23 reported deaths of senior citizens who received shots of Pfizer vaccine, the Philippines will be more cautious in choosing a COVID-19 vaccine for its elderly population, said Carlito Galvez Jr., Sunday.

In an interview, Galvez assured everyone that once the vaccination program in the country started no similar incident will happen in the country.

He added that their goal is to have zero casualty when Filipinos began to receive the vaccines against COVID-19.

"Ang task group na ginawa namin dito ay isang task group ng mga vaccine expert para talagang alalayan. Susuriin talaga natin 'yung mga history, titignan natin," Galvez said.

The chief implementer also said that he already talked with Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and suggested to find a vaccine first best suited for the elderly.
