Migrant workers from KYEC test positive of COVID-19 after having negative test result a week ago

Cluster infections of COVID-19 in Miaoli still on the rise after migrant workers test positive of COVID-19 after having a negative test result a week ago.

All workers at King Yuan Electronics Corp's (KYEC) factories in Miaoli County will be screened for COVID-19 for the second time this week, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said.

The chip packager had confirmed more than 200 cases in which migrant workers dominated the number of cases.

A second round of testing will be carried out because it is highly likely that other employees at the factories have contracted the virus, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said.

A total of 960 KYEC factory workers who are deemed as high risk have been relocated to government quarantine facilities for self-isolation, while 1,207 others considered at lower risk.
