Job Description:

A cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes according to the menu or supervisor’s instructions. Cooks also maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, follow food safety and hygiene standards, and manage cooking schedules to ensure meals are served on time. In some workplaces, they may also assist in planning menus, checking inventory, and training junior kitchen staff.

A kitchen helper provides essential support to cooks and chefs by performing basic food preparation tasks and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Their duties include washing and chopping ingredients, cleaning utensils and cooking equipment, organizing supplies, and ensuring the kitchen area remains safe and sanitary. Kitchen helpers may also assist in plating dishes, unloading food deliveries, and properly storing ingredients. Their role is vital in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.
