Dongqing Village on Orchid Island of Taitung located off the southeastern coast of Taiwan will get to see the very first sunrise in the country at 6:33 a.m in the first day of year 2020.
Then the sunrise will appear in Eluanbi in Pingtung and Sanxiantai in Taitung at 6:35 a.m, data according to Central Weather Bureau.
It has been a tradition in Taiwan in welcoming the first rays of sunshine every new year. There were activities around the area before the sunrise.
CWB also added that the exact timing of the sunrise will depend on a location's atmospheric conditions and altitude, if waiting for the sunrise be prepare at least 10 mins early.
Meanwhile, the final sunset of 2019 nationwide will occur at 6:11 p.m. over Taiwan-controlled Taiping Island.
