South Korea donates P10-Million for Taal Volcano eruption evacuees as aid assistance fund

South Korea donated USD200,000 (approximately PHP10 million) to the Philippines for the evacuees displaced in the Taal Volcano eruption, PNA reported.

Korean Ambassador Han Dong-man handed the US$200,000 check to Senator Richard Gordon, chairman of the Philippine Red Cross.

"The assistance is expected to contribute to the stabilization of the lives of the displaced people by providing relief supplies in a speedy manner to people staying at shelters due to the volcanic eruption," wrote the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Humanitarian assistance for affected individuals of the Taal Volcano eruption," said Han in a media statement.

The South Korean government has been providing humanitarian aid to the Philippines through the PRC to assist communities affected by various natural disasters that hit the country the past few years.
