Taiwan ramps up securities as it lists 6 suspected case of SARS-like virus from China


Six suspected cases have been detected in Taiwan, the latest suspected case is a 1-year-old toddler who returned home whose parents are living in China. Among the six, four are tested negative.


Health authorities in Taiwan are ramping up preventive measures to keep the virus from spreading, Taiwan News reported.

Citizens fear of the virus will spread in Taiwan due to businesspeople from China will go home fo the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year).

Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has its measures by intensifying all screening for infectious diseases at all airports and ports across the coutry. There still no travel restrictions issued to the Chinese city by Taiwanese authorities so far.


Taiwan's CDC advises people traveling to Wuhan or neighboring cities to wear surgical masks and avoid visiting traditional markets or hospitals in these cities.
