Taipei will open a quarantine center aimed at housing individuals who break home-quarantine rules according to Taipei Deputy Mayor Huang Shan-shan, CNA reported.

Eight or nine cases are being investigated, and those found to have breached the regulations risk being placed in the quarantine center and having their name revealed, according to the deputy mayor.

Taipei and neighboring New Taipei have the highest number of people under home quarantine, hitting around 8,800 and nearly 10,000, respectively, according to Central Epidemic Commander Center figures.
