Taiwan health minister personally delivers lunch boxes to frontline health workers in Taipei


Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) Chief and Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung personally delivered bento food boxes to staffs of a hospital on Taipei on Saturday, in a report by Taiwan News.


The hot bento food boxes given minister Chen showed his recognition of the healthcare workers and represented the warm support of society.

The food was prepared by a kitchen established by a charity advocating “Save Food, Love Taiwan,” a cause supported by the Taipei and New Taipei city governments. 

It was sponsored by Rotary International District 3521, the kitchen will be providing 300 lunch boxes each day to hospital staff in the two cities, CNA reported .

Minister Chen was dubbed the “Iron Minister” to his relentless hand work in Taiwan fighting and preparing the country for countermeasures over COVID-19. Chen has gained a 91 percent approval rating for his role in managing the pandemic.


Meanwhile, around 25,000 bento boxes will be given away to medical staff and people under quarantine as pledged by Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je.
