PH COVID-19 death toll swells to 387, total cases now at 5,878 with 218 new infections


The Philippines now has 387 total deaths due to COVID-19 as 25 more patients have succumbed to the disease according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday (April 17).


As of 4 pm, there were also 218 new coronavirus cases recorded breaching the country total to 5,878. 

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries in the country  have reached 487 after noting 52 more patients who have recovered from the disease.

As of the moment, Luzon is still under enhanced community quarantine. President Rodrigo Duterte said that he will immediately lift the quarantine once a vaccine for COVID-19 is available.
