83-year old lola, the oldest patient to recover from COVID-19 in the Philippines


Although the elderly are one of the most vulnerable to COVID-19, an 83-year-old lola from Sta. Rosa, Laguna just became the oldest person so far to recover from the deadly disease in the Philippines.


According to a 24-hour report released by John Consulta on Tuesday, the recovery of Rosa Patient 3 offers hope in all the haze surrounding COVID-19, both for older people and those with existing illnesses.

“‘Wag po nila isipin na mawawalan na sila ng pag-asa dahil po ang Diyos ay hindi natutulog,” she said.

"Ako po ay nagdiwang sa loob ng aking kuwarto. Hindi ko alam kung ako ba ay sasayaw o hindi," she added when asked what came to her mind the moment she learned about the good news that she was finally well.

She also expressed her gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for helping Filipinos in this unprecedented situation.

“Presidente Duterte, ‘wag po kayong magsawang tumulong sa mga Pilipino. Labanan natin ang COVID,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Philippines number of cases has reached 2,084 with 88 deaths and 49 recoveries.

  1. Hello, please correct that. My mom recovered from CoVid19 two weeks agi and she is 85 years old.
