DOH reports 53 new recoveries, total cases now at 5,223 with 291 new infections


The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday (April 14) announced 53 COVID-19 patients who have recovered from the disease and 291 new cases, bringing the country total to 5,223.


As of 4pm, the country now has 295 total recoveries and 335 deaths as 20 new fatalities due to COVID-19 have been recorded.

The DOH earlier explained that its report on recoveries only includes patients confined in hospitals and there may be more patients with mild or no symptoms  who have recovered from the COVID-19 while under home quarantine.

The authorities are urging the public to do regular handwashing, practice coughing and sneezing etiquette and social distancing to avoid the spread of the virus.
