For the first time in history! Taiwan's Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 recorded 0 passenger


The impact of the new coronavirus or COVID-19 has severely impacted the transportation industry. Taiwan's main airport Taoyuan International Airport's inbound and outbound travel volume hit a new low as Terminal 1 recorded 0 passenger last April 14, CNA reported.


The travel volume hits 0.5% or just over 600 at Terminal 2 which is a all time low, the airport was empty and there were almost no staff as COVID-19 pandemic continue to spread. 

The Immigration Department's Foreig Affairs statistics today pointed out that Taoyuan Airport's inbound and outbound passenger traffic continue to drop.

Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) implement measures to limit the number of foreigners coming to Taiwan at various airports and ports last month.

Meanwhile, the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (TIAC) and Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) recently held talks to shutdown one of the terminal of the country's airport.
