Google donates $5 million in ad credits to Philippines COVID-19 battle

Google Philippines said, Tuesday, it donated up to $5 million worth of search ads credit that the government could use to disseminate campaigns and information about COVID-19.

Google Philippines chief of Government Affairs and Public Policy Yves Gonzalez said “Ang Google po ay nagbigay ng up to $5 million in search ad credits."

“Magagamit po ‘yan ng Philippine government agencies para mailabas ang critical na impormasyon tungkol sa COVID-19 pati na rin sa economic recovery measures," he added.

For example, users who search for "how to volunteer" on Google, he or she would be redirected to the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) page with instructions on where and how to do volunteer work.

“In the coming weeks magsisimula na ang mga campaign ng DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment), DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology), pati na rin ang NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority),” Gonzales said.
