Magnitude 5.3 earthquake rocks eastern Taiwan


A 5.3-magnitude earthquake rocks eastern Taiwan's Hualien County at 7:36 p.m. of Sunday (April 12) according to data released by Central Weather Bureau (CWB).


The epicenter was located 60.8 kilometers east of Hualien County Hall with a depth of 44.7 kilometers according to the bureau's Seismology Center.


Intensity 2 were registered in Hualien City, Yilan, Nantou, Taitung, Changhu, and Yunlin counties

Intensity 1 recorded in Taichung City, New Taipei City, Taipei City, Chiayi City, Hsinchu, Miaoli, and Chiayi counties.
