New Apple iPhone SE 2 to hit Taiwan stores with starting price of NT$14,500

The second-generation iPhone SE, the latest budget phone by Apple Inc., will go on sale in Taiwan and 40 other countries and regions on April 24, the American multinational technology company said Wednesday.

From 8 p.m. Friday, iPhone SE will be available for online pre-ordering at a starting price of NT$14,500 (US$481), via the App Store and Apple's official Taiwan website.

The iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and the same A13 Bionic processor as Apple's flagship iPhone 11 models that were launched last September.

It comes with internal storage of 64GB, 128GB or 256GB and in three different colors -- black, white and red.

The budget phone also has a single 12-megapixel rear camera, which is identical to the ones on the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.

The camera has an f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, optical image stabilization, and a quad-LED True Tone flash, according to specifications on the Apple website.

Taiwan will be among the first wave of countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France and Germany, in which the new iPhone SE will be released on April 24. (By CNA)
