Philippines now has 2,311 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with new 227 infections


The Department of Health (DOH) announced 227 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday (April 1), jumping to 2,311 total number of infections in the Philippines.


Today's bulletin also adds eight fatalities bringing the death toll to 96 and 50 for the recoveries after noting one newly recovered patient for the day.

DOH also repeatedly inform everyone that the surge in daily records was due to the increase capacity of the country to accommodate COVID-19 testing.

As the month-long enforcement of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine measures is scheduled to be completed on April 12, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that it is still unpredictable when the Philippines will reach the peak number of COVID-19 cases.

This April fool's, DOH has earlier advised everyone in a facebook post to be responsible enough of spreading news and information.
