Famous water park in Taiwan opens for free throughout summer

Over 10,000 visitors have been seen in just one day in the popular Cikasuan Water Park in Hualien County, in Taiwan, after it announced that it will offer free admission throughout the summer season.

The summer theme park, on its sixth year opening, will give free access to all its facilities from July 18 through Aug 30, to all its guests, regardless of their nationality. However, according to UDN, visitors must provide their contact information and have their temperature check before entering the park.

Organizers of Cikasuan Water Park originally planned to sell tickets this year, but decided to stick with the previous free admission scheme due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said Hualien County Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei, in a press interview.

Hsu added, that aside from the free pass, the park also offers its famous 8-meter-long 360 degree water slide, artificial surfing wave pool, and a rainbow water fountain. It will also introduce its forest-themed market and a lot of food options for the guests this summer.

According to Hualien Tourism Department, more than 10,000 visitors went to the park on its first day opening, Saturday (July 18). It added that more guests are expected to come due to heat waves and temporary suspension of international travel.
