5 Filipinos Injured, 3 Still Missing On The Collapsed Bridge in Yilan


Five Filipinos sustained injuries and 3 went missing after the Nanfang'ao bridge collapsed into a harbor in Yilan County, Taiwan crushing fishing boats underneath it according to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office.


Per MECO Director and information officer the 5 Filipinos have been discharged from hospital after sustaining minor injuries. Though three other Filipinos and three Indonesians are still missing.

The victims are whom are migrant fishermen in Taiwan, their fishing vessel was docked in the area for refueling of the ship and the invident happened while they are resting inside their vessel.


The 5 injured Filipinos are:
1. Julio Gimawa
2. Jason Villaruel
3. Allan Alcansano
4. John Vicente Royo
5. June Flores

Philippine officials have already visited the Filipino victims and extended financial aid as employers to ensure medical bills and medical needs.
