Taiwan placed No. 2 in the world in terms of stress; South Korea at No. 1


Taiwan now ranked as the second-highest level of stress in the world according to a survey by 2019 Cigna 360 Well-Being Survey - Well and Beyond, an American insurance company.


According to Cigna, the highlights of stress of the sandwich generation, who often bear the brunt of caring for their ageing parents as well as their families.

96 percent of Taiwanese respondents in the survey said that they experience heavy stress in their life, up 2 percent over the previous year. South Korea ranked as the first in terms of stress with 97 percent.


Respondents from different countries were surveyed about their feelings that includes: physical, financial, workplace, social, and family wellness.

The most stressed-out Asian countries on the list after Taiwan are Hong Kong with 91 percent, Singapore with 91 percent, Thailand with 91 percent, China with 86 percent and Indonesia with 77 percent.

The market of respondents include Australia, Benelux, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.
