2 Filipinos dead and 4 seriously injured in tragic car accident in Singapore


Two women were killed and four others were seriously injured after a car slammed on the side road of Lucky Plaza in Orchard Road in Singapore, where all are Filipinos reported by The Straits Times.


Several eyewitnesses told the Starits Times that the car had crashed through a metal railing and landed on the side road next to the mall, hitting several people.

“Two pedestrians, aged 29 and 35, were unconscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where they later died from their injuries. Four pedestrians, aged 30 to 43, were conveyed conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital,” according to the authorities.


The police said that the accident took place at around 4 in the afternoon of Dec 29. The driver was already arrested for causing death while in depth investigation is on going.

“DFA OUMWA is checking the latest information about this tragic accident with our embassy, and all assistance will be provided to the victims,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Lucky Plaza mall is known to be popular with foreign workers, especially foreign domestic workers from the Philippines.
