7.9°C low recorded today in Taiwan as cold weather warning advisory reached 13 counties


The strongest cold air mass in the early morning (Dec 9th) coupled with the cooling effect hits Baoshan, Hsinchu County a 7.9 degrees, according to Central Weather Bureau.


The CWB issued special low-temperature advisory of "yellow warning" in 13 counties and cities this morning that includes Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Miaoli County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Nantou County, Chiayi County, Taichung City, Chiayi City, Kaohsiung  City, Tainan City, Taitung County, Hualien County have a chance of temperature below 10 degrees.

CWB advisory system are as follows, red denotes temperatures under 6 degrees for 24 hours onwards, orange is when a minimum of 6 degrees for less than 24 hours, and yellow means a low of below 10 degrees or 24 hours of temperatures below 12 degrees.


The continental air mass will start to weaken within this weeks though expect some scattered rain showers in the country.
