Enjoy sparkling night lights in Shigang Light Festival at the mountain city of Taichung


Shigang Light Festival located at the rural district of Shigang in Taiwan's Taichung have started its light show and will last until Feb. 8, 2020.


Shishuike Creek, Lover's Wooden Bridge, Dongfong Green Bikeway, and Magpie Bridge are some of the venues where the light festival are on exhibition.


The district office plans to use the unique attractions of Shigang to create a visually good theme light district, which fully displays the characteristics of the mountain city in Taichung.


The themes includes ecological magic Christmas tree, angel lover dream, light corridor, energy tunnel, starlight universe hall, rainbow wish waterfall, love wind chime, fantasy rice spike avenue, magic waterwheel and galaxy movement.

The district is famous for the Shigang Dam, Dongfong Green Bikeway, Tuniu Hakka Cultural Hall, and Wufulinmen (Five blessings) Giant Tree according to director-general of the Taichung Social Affairs Bureau Wu Shih-wei.

To get there by public transportation, get off at Fengyuan Railway Station. Then, from Fengyuan Bus Station, take Bus No. 90, 91, 206, 207, 208, or 209 and get off at the Taichung Shigang District Office. (Photos from Taichung Shigang District Office)
