Taiwan cancel all flights to and from Wuhan, China to amid virus outbreak


All direct flights between Taiwan and Wuhan City in central China have been canceled as officials in China prepares for lockdown of the region to prevent speeading of the virus, according to Taiwan's transportation ministry.


There will be a total of 12 round-trip flights that bans flight to Wuhan per week, which are operated China Airlines (CAL) and Mandarin Airlines and two Chinese airlines, China Eastern and China Southern, CNA reported.

There was a Taiwanese woman with confirmed case of a new type of coronavirus originating in Wuhan, China, while there are 12  that are currently under quarantine in Taiwan.


Officials in Wuhan announced a complete travel ban on its residents amid a coronavirus outbreak that has killed 17 people and infected more than 550 others throughout China.

There were nine cases of the virus have now been reported in areas outside China, including four in Thailand, and one each in Japan, South Korea, the United States, Macau and Taiwan.
