DOH reports 41 new COVID-19 recoveries, total at 654

Forty-one more patients in the Philippines have recovered from the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) leading to a total of 654 recoveries, said the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday (April 21).

The country now has also 6,599 cases of COVID-19 as 140 more individuals have contracted the disease. On the other hand, only nine fatalities have been recorded today moving the death toll to 437.

The DOH announced earlier that over 55,000 Filipinos have already been tested for COVID-19 while there are currently 17 laboratories across the country which could accommodate the coronavirus testing.

Meanwhile, Malacañang is thinking of imposing a total lockdown to stem the spreading virus but some medical experts believe that the country only needs to extend the community quarantine in a modified manner.
