Philippines' COVID-19 recoveries climb to 140, total cases now 4,195


The Philippines now has 140 total recoveries as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 16 patients who have recovered from the deadly coronavirus disease as of 4p.m., April 10.


The agency also announced 119 new confirmed cases resulting to a country total of 4,195. 

Meanwhile, death toll rose to 221 as 18 new fatalities were recorded.

To prevent further spread of the virus, the authorities are urging the public to do regular handwashing, practice social distancing and proper sneezing and coughing etiquette.

DOH also pleads to everyone to pay respect to the country's health workers who attend COVID-19 patients as cases of discrimination among medical frontliners are being reported.
