Taiwan confirms 7 new COVID-19 cases, 1 of the cases is already in Taiwan for 2 months



Taiwan repored seven new COVID-19 cases, six of the cases are imported while the other ine is unclear if imported or local since the patient is in Taiwan for already two months, according Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on August 1 (Saturday).

CECC confirms that the six imported cases came from Philippines and Guatamela while the other one is a Belgian man who already spent two months in Taiwan.

The Belgian man who works in Central Taiwan is still unclear where he had been infected, and whether he should be counted as an imported case or as a domestic transmission. 

The death toll remains at seven, with 382 cases imported, 55 local, 36 originating from the Taiwan Navy’s "Goodwill Fleet," and Saturday's case still to be determined, Taiwan News reported.
