Palawan named in the 10 World’s Most Beautiful Islands by CNN Travel


The island of Palawan was one of the 10 World’s Most Beautiful Islands listed by CNN Travel as Philippines’ Department of Tourism applauded the continues recognition of the island, reported by Philippine News Agency.


Palawan is described as “a gorgeous haven of pale sand and clear water” by CNN. Palawan’s Puerto Princesa, El Nido, Coron and the developing town of San Vicente are identified as tourism enterprise zone.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site was described as the most remarkable hiding place per CNN’s Jen Rose Smith.


The Department of Tourism praised the local government efforts in endorsing sustainable tourism and working the carrying capacity of the country's longest subterranean river.

Apart from Palawan, the other islands in the list are Milos in Greece, Bartolomé in Ecuador, Fregate in Seychelles, St. Lucia in Lesser Antilles, Jura in Scotland, Komodo Island in Indonesia and Kaua’I in United States.

Apart from the CNN’s recognition, Palawan also ranked second in the 2019 Travel + Leisure’s (T+L) World’s Best Awards.
