Taiwan's TSMC to open 8,000 jobs on its futuristic 3nm fab in Hsinchu


TSMC Chairman announced that Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association will increase its Research and Development (R&D) as it will establish a new R&D center in Hsinchu, Taiwan.


The company will hire an additional 8,000 engineers om its new R&D center and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

In the past five years, TSMC has invested more than US$50 billion in technology research and development. It plans to invest tens of billions of dollars in research and development of new technologies and materials in the next few years.


TSMC’s share price once crossed the 300-yuan mark and the highest price hit a new high of 301.5 yuan.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Limited is the world's largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry. TSMC is the first foundry to provide 7-nanometer production.
