P5,000 ayuda para sa mga near-poor workers, ibibigay ng DSWD sa ilalim ng AKAP program

"Near-poor" na manggagawa, o ang mga tumatanggap ng buwanang suweldo na P23,000 pababa, ay makakatanggap ng isang beses na P5,000 na tulong pinansyal sa susunod na taon sa ilalim ng Ayuda sa Kapos sa Kita Program (AKAP) ng Department of Social  Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Ang proposed budget na P5.768 trilyon na para sa 2024 ay naglaan ng P26.7 bilyon para sa pagpapalawak ng subsidy ng gobyerno para sa mahihirap na kabahayan, sinabi ni Speaker Martin Romualdez nitong Martes.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na ang programa, na tinaguriang Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program o AKAP, ay naglalayong sakupin ang 12 milyong kabahayan.

Ang programang AKAP na ito ay para sa mga sambahayan na ang mga miyembro ay nagtatrabaho ngunit hindi sapat ang kinikita.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang DSWD ay nagbibigay na ng cash subsidies sa mga nangangailangan sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis program at ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) para sa pinakamahihirap na sambahayan.
